Factions and Gangs
Every character belongs to a gang or faction, and the interplay within your faction and with others is intended to make up the core of the game.

Characters
All characters are written without gender, so they can all be played by anyone. Each player can assign whatever pronouns they choose to their character.

Once characters have been assigned, each player will receive a detailed character sheet. The character sheet will contain some background about their life before and after imprisonment, a number of personal relations with other characters both inside and outside their faction, and some suggested goals to try and achieve during the game.

Players will be encouraged to make Facebook groups or similar for their factions so that they can coordinate with the people they will be playing with.

Players will be sent a character preference form, in which they can state their preferences for faction and character traits. Characters will then be assigned based on these preferences.

During the preference process, players will be asked if they are willing to be a faction leader. Each faction has a leader of sorts who will need to keep their people in line, negotiate with other faction heads and to lead the way in achieving their faction’s objectives. Stating willingness to be a faction leader doesn’t necessarily mean you will be one, just that you are willing to! It is entirely possible that faction leaders will change during the game as character and faction stories unfold.

Full character sheets will be sent to players at least two months in advance of the game so that everyone has time to prepare.
