In a similar world to our own and in the not too distant future, the state is controlled by fascist authoritarians known as The Directive. Every aspect of life is controlled. Guards patrol the streets. People live and die according to the whims of those in charge.

Dissent is not tolerated. But there are still those who slip through the cracks. Criminals, gangers, recidivists… all finding ways to live their own lives beyond the gaze of the Directive. And when they get caught, they are sent to a new world – one of the SuperMax-Plus prisons that dot the landscape.

Crier’s Brook is one such facility where eighty or so enemies of the state are locked away. The Warden may be in charge. The guards may have machine guns. But in Crier’s Brook, it is the prisoners who really run things, and life is a daily battle between the gangs and other factions vying for overall control.

Now there is a rumour that a visitor is coming, someone of high status within the Directive. Can the prisoners use this opportunity to change the world around them? And even if they riot, will it really change anything?
